I was looking for something like this everywhere - until a read the name Heeru at some Reddit thread about surfing rib pain.
I started surfing just over a year ago, and during one surf trip I actually had a rib fracture. Of course I let it heal properly, but when I got back in the water after few months, and after a few very intense days the immense pain would come back. And I was not the only one: half of our surfcamp had the same pain! I honestly though surfing is over for me. And then I ordered heeru, and this miracle came to me just before Christmas, with the hand-written note from the founder, which melted my heart!
I am so grateful this guard was invented and I can enjoy surfing again. It is very simple and comfortable, stays in one place, doesn't look ugly under the wetsuit, and gives me so much confidence in the water! Thank you!

Great quality

I haven’t had a chance to use it so far as my next surf trip is still to come but I do absolute like the quality,. It’s very well designed and sits well. The material seems to be robust and I think the guard will do a good job in protecting my ribs. Thank you

no more rib pain

I've been using the Heeru Surf rid guard for surfing and it's just what I needed. I use it under the Rocket rib guard vest, which is also great but I needed a bit more padding, and the Heeru gives me the extra needed for no rib pain. I adjusted it to fit tight enough not to slip but loose enough to breath deeply! Once adjusted for both, I leave the Velcro set and slip it on from the bottom (over my legs first).

Really great idea - has helped me a lot

I've been unable to surf for 6 months due to torn intercostal muscles. This product has helped me get back into the water - really great idea and good quality too.

It won't hurt (to try it)

For 10 years I paddled out a 1/4 mile to surf a spot called Tunnels on Kauai. I developed surf bumps on my ribs along with quite a bit of pain after each session. Over the years I have tried many products, including home made ones, such as taping bubble wrap around my rib cage before putting on a wetsuit. The ultimate relief though came from using a Wake Board Impact Vest. The wake board vest is very bulky so I figured "It won't hurt" to try Heeru. The Heeru is designed perfectly as far as the shape and fit. It is also made well and very light weight. However, it does not provide enough SIGNIFICANT protection. Just better than nothing. So I added more padding into the slots to give it more cushion. I only wear it under a wetsuit so it will stay in place. I can't imagine trying to use it alone without the wetsuit, this holds it and hides it and prevents everyone in the line up from asking me if I was in a car accident. If you are in the Tropics just buy a 1.5 mill sleeveless Short John to pair with it and place a front traction pad on your board. The whole ensemble should provide you with the ultimate protection. Love to Heeru for their mission to Njoy Sur'n Without Pain.
